Feedback from delegates

  • Fantastic day – Inspiring- We cover a large geographic area with minimum resources therefore can see the potential. Plus autonomous self directed therapy for patients when they are in the mood and not restricted by out-patient time when they may not be in the mood for the session.
  • Very interesting and informative day – clearly presented – congratulations on  a super product in stepbystep – many thanks
  • Excellent presentation – very practical for impairment based therapy – good ideas for group therapy.
  • Really inspiring – lots of ideas to take away and make a start.
  • Fantastic course –very interesting and relevant – very useful to see programmes in action and discuss pros and cons.
  • A really fantastic day! Very well presented, interesting, informative, stimulating and useful. I can’t wait to start using stepbystep.

Course 1                 Course 2                        Feedback

At Steps Consulting Ltd we believe that it is not just about the software, but how computers are integrated into aphasia therapy that can affect the outcome. We currently run three different training courses for Speech and Language Therapists:-

Course 1: Making StepByStep work for you  in the clinical setting:

This course is aimed at purchasers of StepByStep software. Therapists often value the opportunity to leave their busy practice to spend a day learning how to make the most of the product. Delegates will learn how to tailor the software to an individual client: What features to consider when encouraging independent working using the product to provide intensive therapy: and how to use the internet to update a client's computer when used in the home setting and the impact of this on service delivery.

Course 2: How can computers enhance aphasia therapy?

This course is aimed at speech and language therapists keen to learn more about how computers can be used in aphasia therapy. The course covers a range of different software packages currently on the market from impairment based, general language stimulation and those to assist with functional tasks such as writing emails, adapted word processing, text to speech packages to assist reading. It presents case studies to illustrate the use of computers in therapy to a) compensate for a language impairment and b) treat word retrieval deficits. This practical course considers the barriers to computer therapy and gives a check-list to consider when returning to their clinical setting.

Course 3: Using software to deliver effective word retrieval therapy.

Do you find it challenging to deliver effective word retrieval therapy when resources are limited? Find out how you can tailor software to provide intensive repetitive practice of therapy tasks releasing you time to concentrate on other aspects of communication.  The aim of this 1-day practical training course is to investigate how computers can enhance word retrieval therapy in aphasia.
